WoW will eat your soul.

I played at release, before stupid BG's, when MC was only accessible through brd, and when my full devout set was pretty advanced.... Then I unfortunately had my Priest ressurected from deletion, but once again my sanity has returned.... and i have cancelled my accounts =p

PS - horde smell like Christina Aguillera.

Wow WILL eat your soul, it's so perfectly made. it's addicting because there are no good stopping points or an end to the game, there's always another tier of loot or another rank to achieve.

now i just play it while i wait for UT2k7, pretty much :P

Alliance are EZ-mode; it's been proven that 40% of alliance quests consist of running to Darnassus and back to Ironforge. :P

I would argue about it being 'perfectly made' but not worth the effort =)

All mmorpg's perpetuate themselves in the same manner, I think the older ones were better, but possibly just because the newer ones ~should~ be better then they are, instead of virtual clones of older games and ideas.

same could be said of any genre, look at all the sequels in shooters! the MoH series, CS series, CoD...

i sorta like WoW because it has SO MANY nice features, but the incentive to play is lacking.
On a side note has anyone tried EVE? i hear its fairly good but i havent yet tried it.

yea they always patch every 5weeks or so and it makes the game so much better. You gotta love the game. Although there are some idiots that spam on the looking for group chat. Thats annoying but still you can do dungeons, make friends, do quests, kill things, get armor, kill people, etc.

I never played it, sounds interesting, I bought a gamecube few weeks ago, been play legend of zelda windtalker, quite amusing but I mostly been playing bf2 online, it always makes me smile, so many different way to play it, I like bf2 a lot. Theres nothing like strapping some c4 to a copter and letting it fly away a little before detonating it.
I might try WoW.

The thing that has always stoped me playing RPG's is the fact i dont like fantasy styled games.. well, Non-Fiction ones. I hate games where you have to fight an unknown race of aliens or some go on crappy 'quests' just to gain an item thats realy in the long run pointless. . . . However one thing i have always thurt about, is there a RPG based on something thats not been totally made up and full of magic spells etc... if you get me?

bf2 has hybrid mmorpg qualities, in rankings.

The closest thing to non-fantasy mmorpg would be sci-fi themed things including I guess that sony shooter/rpgtype thing that i dont really know much about.

mmorpg tend to take massive amounts of time, and thus, its farily pointless to have a 'mundane' one...

how about Galaxies? that wasn't a bad game at first; until they started revamping it for the noobs, then it became an endless hack of patches and redesign.
