Does anyone here know of (or can make) a texture that is like grassy but see through in some areas...
if anyone plays countr-strike and plays cs_italy, they will know what I'm talking about.
Here's a demo, but I dont want the crap hanging off the sides, I want it to be a full texture for the top of stuff, and to where they can walk on it

thanks

Look under "decal".

Ask Mj, he's made a lot of custom foliage.

tltrude, I believe you are referring to the "weeds" decal correct?
by viewing
http://homepage.eircom.net/~kdja4/textu ... decals.htm is where I noticed that.
But when I go to "decals" on mohradiant, it doesn't bring up any textures. I have my entdfs.pk3 in place.

I think there is a flaw in the decals shader file. Try putting this file (after you unzip it) in a folder named "scripts" in main.

Remake the brush. This happens sometimes when you stretch a brush in radiant while it got a texture on.

made a new brush, then applied the texture, and it stretches again.

Yes, you can put it on your site. Did you try making it a patch mesh and using the "natural" button? You may have to look up that shader, in my decal_fix file, and see if it has anything different form the others that work. If you are just using it as grass, it doesn't need to have "polygoal offset". That makes the surface texture offset by one pixel, so it can be applied to a wall or whatever.

If you go to the top of the picture, it will look something like that on counter-strike. That was just a test. I dont know how to do patch mesh's and I dont know what natural is.
Patch

Patch Mesh is under the "curve" menu. Hitting "simple patch mesh" will turn a brush into a single sided patch that can be bent by moving its verticies (Key V).
If you highlight a brush, brush face, or patch you can hit key S to bring up the "Surface Inspector". It has a button that says "Natural", but it is normally only used for patch mesh.
Here are some old custom textures I found. Put the folders in main or rename the .zip extention to .pk3 and put it in main.

The new textures will be under Textures > custom.

I really appreciate the vines mate, though not what I'm looking for, not a problem tho. I'm going to try patch mesh.
