Window problem

Ok, so I have made all of my windows the exact same way, but about 3 or 4 are different after being broken. The problem is that after being broken an invisible wood texture develops in the center of the window. I can shoot through the sides, but when I shoot the center the bullets do not go through and I can see wood debris. Any ideas?

You are using "nodraw" for the windows and only texturing one side, right ?

No, I'm texturing the whole brush.

It's been a long time since I made a window, but, I think you have to goto func/window, and then give it health, no ?

health

300.............. or whatever

There may also be a problem with the texture you tried, and you need to use a different one.

if you give it that health, you'll need a bazooka. i usually give the windows between 40-60 health . usually 1 or two shots will break it then.

300 would take 9 shots with a pistol :) i think

chk out the Nem's tut on windows, I didn't know about the "Window_Broken_Block" command. And is that "Keys" new, thats really handy

I see in his tutorial he says to use csg subtract. Don't use it. Make your walls and window openings using seperate brushes.

Sure, but one you shoot a window 9 times and it don't break, adn go to another window with the same settings, and toss a nade through it and it breaks, it's odd.
