vis prob.... grrrr

Post by neillomax »

Trying to get vis working.

There are no leaks. File/pointfile shows nothing. Vis leafgroups target each other just fine.

Compile, no problems.

Get in map, if it's working it should not let you see a certain area........ kinda like when you forget to put a sky in your map. This bugs me. Thats how I know it's not working because you could see it.

It should also help not draw the "unseen" parts of the map keeping frames up. Still no change.

Any takers ? Any ideas as to what I might be missing ?

I also made another map, added vis, and it works fine.

i'd have to go with check compile settings and run a base compile with no params and see how it goes. If your methods and targets are all the same with different results...

Well, I don't know what you mean by "it", but if its a model, the entire bounding box has to be inside the vis_leafgroup brush. Brushes, or models, that are sticking out of the vis_leafgroup brush will not vanish.

O.K., I'm smilin again. I did the file/pointfile thing after loading my map onto another machine. I've been fixing leaks for about four hours on and off. MINGA !

I guess the radiant on the other machine decided to take a crap in the middle of the project for some reason. Vis is working fine now.
