Player spawns trouble!

For some reason my settings have changed and I don't know why. I try to add a player spawn point and when I right click on any of the views, the info tab does not appear so I can't add a spawn point. If I load up a previous map all of the spawn points in that map are small green squares rather than the different colored tall rectangles. I tried to copy them but when I compile the map and load it I get sent back to the main menu and my console says that no spawn points are present. Anyone have any ideas? Your help is appreciated!
