I can create the map and compile it without much difficulty, but when I run the map I get several problems:
a) no sound (even after I tried some guys ubersound workaround fix)
b) --erm nevermind about this one
c) script which I copy-pasted doesn't "wehay!" give me a colt

Hmm well ubersound work-around is a very hard tutorial.

Do you hear any sounds when you prefix 'test_' to your map name? You can always change it back later.

What script are you using?

It took me a couple of goes before I got everything working correctly, the console is pretty good at helping to identify missing sounds/animations.

yes the console is useful for finding all the missing sounds...except they're ALL missing. .. sigh. i dunno i put the .tki or .tik or whatever those sound precaching files are in the mohaa/main/sounds/[mapname] like it says? :?: as far as i can tell, the level doesnt even recognize my .scr's, either [mapname].scr or [mapname]_precache.scr. my map .bsp file i put into the /mohaa/main/maps folder which i had to create. . . put the scripts in there too, but apparently somethings not right..

as for the "test_" thing, well thats only a noob solution and while i may be biting off more than i can chew, i want to be able to do it right.

(oh and GRrr no concave shapes..) :P

Console also says whether your script was found.

Probably it says 'loading script [mapname].scr' or something somewhere on top.

Just use two brushes instead.

well yes you can use two brushes, but if you need something more complex you may be talking brushes in the double didgits. . . and you have to fit them together. so...grr no concave shapes. no unions or intersects or joins or subtracts. . .is there a way to extrude a polygon ? like say draw a 2d star shape and then give it some height. or wait thats concave . (&*@%) how bout triangles? can you make triangular prism thingies?

ok yes, the console says im missing the script..but its right next to the map heh. in the mohaa/main/maps folder. where do i put it/do i compile it?

The script is automatically compiled when you load your map.

Make sure it is in the same folder as the bsp file and check the filename.

:?: ok so i put the compiled [mapname].bsp file in the mohaa/main/maps folder. i put the [mapname].scr file in there with it. game doesnt recognize it. :?:

:(

Its possible you have an error in your script, it just happened to me. I mis-spelt some commands, and when I checked the console it hadn't loaded the script.

uuummm if u have radient set up right it should be saving ur map to something like Program Files/EA Games/MOHAA/main/maps/dm/ or /obj
this might be a problem....

i have it in the mohaa/main/maps folder.... i dunno the map runs and it wasnt intended as a mp map, just trying to get things working. as for the script bugs...well i just deleted everything in the script (saved it..) and well it still doesnt load. when it doesnt load, it says it cant find the .scr, but the .scr file is there, with exactly the same file extension, with exactly the same name aaaghhh
