I just installed Internet Explorer 7 and it has something called "RSS Feed". I don't really know what it does except that it is some kind of auto update for web sites.
If anyone wants help explain it to me, please do. Also, would it be good to have it for .map?

I think I get it. Is it a way to breakdown large volumes of new information into small, managable chunks?
I see TMT has it, but IE7 will not allow its content to be shown.
"This feed contains a DTD (Document Type Definition). DTDs are used to define a structure of a webpage. Internet Explorer does not support DTDs in feeds."
So, if we had it for .map, someone would have to update the feed everyday -- that sucks! Anyway, thanks for the link Rookie One -- now I can remove the FEED junk from the command toolbar.
Ps: .map needs a "
FavIcon".

RSS feeds are just easy, automatic ways of finding the newest info from sites. They've been around forever, and they're just XML files, but putting in IE made it a bit more public. Mostly for patches or hotfixes or video sites letting you know when they just put something up.
Most RSS's are updated automatically, otherwise it beats the purpose of them. For .map it doesn't make that much sense, unless you wanted to know when a new thread was made.

Vista's sidebar has the ability to put a rss feed widget on it .

Those are nice, except for the white backgrounds. Here is the one I made and use for my links shortcut.

But, I wish there was one that downloaded automatically. maybe we should have a contest!
