I have been on medla of honor for just over 2 months now and have never had any problems. im not very experienced but on multiplayer games other players have said my gun appears to be above my players head or at the side of its hands, but not actually holding it. I have gone on gaming FAQs on other sites but there doesnt seem to be an explanation for it...

Firstly - wrong forum, topic moved. ;)

I've seen this happen only a few times since I've been playing the game (2002), and as far as I can recall it was always when playing Spearhead. I don't think anyone really knows what causes this, but I've seen explanations like using custom skins and playing with Breakthrough on Spearhead servers.

I tried playing with a different model (Airborne) i think it must be the player model i had which was the pilot. it seems fine now, it must be something to do with the model.

Thanx :D

All custom skins use shaders from stock skins to tell the game what the skin looks and sounds like. If you have a custom skin selected that another player does not have installed, they will see the skin that was used for the shader. Usually it is the wermach or ranger skin i think. When this happens your weapon is seen out of kilter, upside down and tilted.

At least this happens with SH skins.

That's not quite right. Custom skins all use custom shaders, because if they used stock shaders they wouldn't be custom at all. ;) Shader is a text file which tells the game how to render a texture.

If you have a custom skin that the server doesn't have, the server sets it to the default one (american_army for allies and german_wehrmacht_soldier for axis). If the server does have it, it tells everyone you're wearing it. Now, if the other players don't have the skin, they will either see the symptoms described by GunFreak or the player wearing the custom skin would be invisible to them (not sure about which one happens under which conditions, although I've witnessed both cases).

it happens on AA here and there also rook and i'm more inclined to believe it has something to do with custom skins. i've seen it when i've had no customized mods in my main and i've also seen it when i replaced all the default axis skins with textures using a custom image of my face.

I have witnessed player invisibilty on a server before, so that must be why. The model has been reset to the default skins quite a few times.
