Func_door black (unshaded) sides

While making a giant drawer (toy soldiers type map), I test compiled and noticed that the sides of the drawer were black. Is there a way to fix this?

If the drawer is closed when it is compiled, it will be black when it is opened in the game. To fix it, move the drawer where it will get light during the compile, and move it back with the script, just before the game starts -- in prespawn.

Couldn't you use the surface parameter menu to tell the compile to light it anyway? I think I remembered seeing light options on it.
