For night I would make the light more blue like this map m4l1

// THE BOCAGE
// ARCHITECTURE: PRESTON, NATE, TODD
// SCRIPTING: Z

"map_time" "Tue Nov 20 16:23:17 2001"
"farplane" "3100"
"sunflarename" "none"
"farplane_color" ".2 .2 .235"
"sundirection" "-35 100 0"
"suncolor" "38.8 62.4 88.8"
"classname" "worldspawn"
"message" "Rendezvous with the Resistance"
You see for suncolor that the RGB colors favor the blue

There are 3 sky textures for night sky.

african night

lighthouse

subpen

Don't worry about sundirection or sunflare stuff unless you want to cast shadows.

For a night time ambience, try

key ambientlight
value 10 10 10

The values for ambientlight are RGB as well Red Green Blue so the same rules apply as for the sunlight . 70 70 70 I believe is normal light so 10 10 10 is a good value for low ambient light but you can also use a bit more blue for that too like setting it to 10 10 20 or some other combination . It would really change the look and feel of the map .
