I have looked throuh all the tutorial's on here for starting scripting.Allready answered a lot of question's that i would have been asking in the future.BUT....I read the basic new set up if you are starting a script from scratch...excellant,but it was if you were doing a DM map, mine will be obj,can i still use that starter script or is it different for obj?If it is different, can you tell me what i have to change to make my basic script for my obj map?i know i can use the tutorial's for how to learn what go's in the script later on,but i need to start from the beginning....SRY

You never have to start from scratch. Just go to main/pak5.pk3/maps/obj and study/copy one of the original objective map scripts. You can also just unzip someone's mod pk3 and use their script as a starting point. If you use an original, you can also copy the bombs and triggers from the same original source map.
You might want to start with obj_team1 or obj_team4 because they are the easy ones. Also, don't forget to comment out the roundstart line -- so you can test it alone.

Open it up with winzip......... free copy available...................
look for the mohobj4 screensaver
right click on it and select open with notepad to read it.
if you are going to use it ( copy it to use as your obj script )......... highlight it and go upto extract................ and extract it to a folder on your desktop. There you can do what you want to it without it interfereing with the original game file.
when you make changes save it as
mymapobj.scr.
put it in your pk3 file with the bsp and lin file.

TY so much for that,it was exactly what i needed,i am now studying the script's and am allready getting an idea of what i need to do,thx again.
P.S. Is there a tut/guide to all the "clips" used in mapping and a short description of what/how they are best used?i know alot of them are self explanatory but it would be a great help for noob mapper's like me i'm sure...thx again,Col H

I don't think there is a totorial for clip brushes. The are used to block people or weapons. Some are used for sound when you walk on them or shoot at them. "Clip all" is sometimes used to make things solid, or to keep players from falling off the edge of the world, ha ha!
You can make a simple map, that compiles fast, to test clip brushes and other things.
