hey guys i thought it would be kewl to join a couple maps in mohradiant.....i wanted to take southern france and take out the gate area and make a tunnel and connect it to algiers where the door is under the awning....make them connect there so when u walk thru the door u enter a tunnel and come out in southern france....i opened the maps in radiant and trimmed them how they need to be to line together but the only way i know to copy is to load one map then open another when the one loaded then when it asks to copy selection i hit yes.....then it pastes one on the other when it opens......all that works but when i try to move it my pc laggs bad....i have 2gb of ram but is that enough?......when i try to connect them i can get close but then radiant shuts down i guess cause of memory usage?....not sure why but i just cant get the maps joined....anyone know of any other way to do this....really think it would be kewl to play like that......then script in some teleports and then u could actually tele from algiers into southern france =)....thx in advance guys....hope to get this resolved or find out it cant be done either way....laterz

I would guess that you are trying to move way to many brushes. That sounds like a cool idea but I think people have tried it and it didn't turn out very good.

Somebody already combined the 2. They used a teleport system to connect them.

On a side note, you may want to remove a small part of one map and connect it to the other, and save and compile. Then having already made the remainder a prefab, you could try and call for the prefab and it might "join" the part already connected to the existing map. It may be too big to compile if it actually did work.

You can load both and see how far you need to move one of the maps then open only that map then move it then load the other map . That might help a bit at least . I think loading a map saves the current map and opening a map discards the current map . Thats how some mappers end up with double the brushes some of the time .

But how do i move it....when i try to move the loaded map it only moves a little at a time then it will freeze up on me then when it unfreezes i cant move it anymore then it shuts down.....someone else said might be to many brushes selected.....imma keep trying thx for all the replys....

It can take a really long time to move and I wouldn't even touch the mouse while it is moveing . It may just look like it is frozen but in fact is still moving and even after is seems to have stopped wait a bit . It depends on the computer as well . I have an AMD FX60 dual core with 2gigs of memory and I was able to do it . It crashed once but I waited after each move and was even able to move both maps at once . Have a look and see if this is ok for what you want . One other tip is if you have both maps loaded and want to move one put a large brush over it and on the menu at the top choose region - set tall brush and the other map will not show and cause lagg . After you move the map use region - off to show the other map again . Move the first map first so they don't overlap when you load the second map .

Can't download the file.

Kinda sounds like what i did with Algeirs and stali and called it mohdm76 at first i was planing on making it so you'd be able to walk from algiers to stali but got lazy and frustrated and jsut used teleports
