Default Skins

OK, when a player has a custom skin (and it is on a server) and other players dont have it the server sets what the other players see.
Is there a way to change what they see server side? And how? (if yes) Also can differant skins be seen with differant defaults? (skin1 = us soldier / skin2 = uk capt)

other players will see the default skin for that team .

nope, not saying that at all . i'm not a coder though . however, if you run around in a server with a custom skin that another player does not have, the other player will see a default skin .

As far as I can remember, if the server has a custom skin you don't have, the players using it will be invisible to you. Unless you use the force models option.

never heard of that one, usually what tips me off that a server and it's members are using a custom skin is the sideways gun firing deal .

I usually see the weird gun thing too. Only "seen" the invisible thing once.

Well, I wrote "as far as I can remember" because the last time I had this issue was 4 years ago on a LAN party and that was the symptom, if I recall correctly.

But yeah, I've seen the sideways firing too, but oddly enough, in Spearhead only.

Why don't you just check it? You just need 2 players, one of them with a public IP address.

I think maybe I'm mis-understood. I'm not worried so much about the gun thing. I wanted to change what the default skis is. right now its us soldier, I want to make it another stock skin. But I dont know how to do it.

player 1 has custom skins, player 2 does not, player 2 sees us soldier.
I want player 2 to see the stock uk capt instead.

It's not a big deal if it cant be done, just thought I'd ask.

About the invisible thing, a guy I know saw this a few times. He thinks it happens when BT players have custom skins on a SH server. The server doesn't see his default skin, so it shows nothing. I dont know if this is true, but figured I'd throw it out there for the brains to look at.
