will the different sdk versions work together on one machine? (i.e. aa and sh)

Yes, they're totally independent of each other.

All you really need to do is to keep the compilers qmap.exe and Mohlight.exe from AA and SH separate . I use the SDK radiant for AA and SH . The only thing is to make sure you don't get any SH models in an AA map . Do that by renaming mainta to somthing like xmainta . Then the SH stuff won't show in radiant and as long as you compile with the AA versions of the compilers your good to go . The only difference between the two radiants is that the SDK version can load SH models and the other one can't .
