Modding the sky

I need to know how to some tricks....for exemple:
How to change sky color with scripts
How to put flashes with scripts
Someone knows how to do it?:?:

You mean like the level Druckkammern? You could try looking in that map's script file?

And how this script works?

Okay, first of all there's a mod which changes skies, but it can only be done through radiant(meaning you need to have the .map file and you need to know how) and finishing it off through script, it's impossible to do only through script. You can add lightning(flashing) by using this in the prespawn:

exec global/weather.scr::thunder
It depends on what map it's used, without presetting this in your .map this'll probably look ugly.

Then you can't see a thing. Screen's black, maybe your weapon if you're lucky lol

Also, I got more inside on this "will look ugly thing", don't use it in maps with bright skies, the flashes'll turn the skies blue for a sec.

hes probaly talking about night mods...the use of fastsky and the global weather script used together to get lightning thunder and a black sky...maybe this info will help with getting a black sky..i think exec global/weather.scr was mentioned above to get lightning and thunder

Usually, weather.scr is exec'd globally (not thread-specific) because you're supposed to use it along with the map you created.

well for the dark sky i did this...it was on destoyed village and came out perfect....ran it like this for several months before turning the lights back on lol



put this in ur script before prespawn

setcvar "r_fastsky" "1"
	$world farplane 3500
	$world farplane_color (0 0 0)

nice one tazz ;)

But changing it to other colours is impossible, silentangel (without the .map at least). Tazz' script removes the sky (ie making it dark).

You cannot however use weather.scr with this since that script resets the farplane.

As I have pointed out in another discussion on the subject, forcing fastsky with the setcvar command will only work on non-dedicated servers for the game host only, everyone else will see the sky as normal. You need to stufftext it periodically to everyone one the server.
