Hey, as the title says, i recently found out about this project, sounds very interesting. I also read about the departure of one of the original founders of the project, are the remaining members still working on this?

Regarding this project, i've been fascinated throuhgout the years of the very loyal following MOHAA has. I havent played much of it, i've played more Call of duty and like it a lot, so i dont get such an amount of popularity this game has. It's even more popular than latter MOH games like Pacific Assault or Airborne. Why is it so popular? Can anyone let me know please? I also have a rather technical question regarding MOH. I know MOHAA uses the q3 engine with modifications from the FAKK2 code, but what engine does Pacific Assault uses? q3 too? I know airborne uses ue3, but what about MOHAA:PA?
thanks

And thanks for letting me post here. :)

MoHPA is a further development of the MoHAA engine. There have been substantial changes, though, like the migration from OpenGL rendering to Direct3D, abandonment of BSP in favour of a terrain/mapobject approach etc.

Oh, ok, thanks for the info. So by using a terrain mapobject approach instead of BSP does that mean that its editor is more like the far cry / crysis ones? And would that mean that it's easier (the editor) to use than the radiant one?

thanks again

Dunno, I haven't used PA's MDK, but I guess so. Actually, Radiant was already pretty close to Sandbox or BFEditor in that it allowed to place entities (including mapobjects) quite easily, only that it didn't have the game engine built in (you can't jump right into the map inside the editor and walk around it) like the aforementioned editors do.

Ah ok, heh, seems funny that MoHPA doesnt use BSP, but the latest MoH Airborne does, since the unreal engine 3 uses BSP. :D

It's not that they dropped BSP altogether in PA, it's just that it's not officially supported. Mappers were encouraged to make maps the new way instead.
