Textures not seen in viewbox when applied

When I make a brush and apply a texture to it, I cannot see the texture. All I see is a red see through box with no texture. It looks like this from the time I draw it. Screenshots are attatched. Does this have to do with me using Windows Vista? Or are my settings incorrect?

I'm sorry but I don't have an answer to your problem but..... do you find radiant hard to work with that way ?
The little 'eye" in the upper right. Click on it until a #2 pops in it. This way you will be able to move your mouse to move around. I think it's a hold down your right mouse button and move mouse thing. Then use the c and d buttons for up and down. It's better than "zipping" around the work area IMO.
In preferences, select paint size info. That'll give you the brush size while you're working.
Also, if using a 3 button mouse, select that. It might come in handy...???
The cull distance... make it 1500 or 2500. that way you can see all your work vs a small patch when things get bigger.

The main inconvenience I find with this issue is that I cannot see what a texture will look like in the map until I compile the map, open MOHAA, and actually go into the map in my LAN server. I focus mainly on modding my m16 right now so I am just making a small map with player models holding guns so I can see what my gun is looking like from a 3rd person view. Also I will use this map for taking screenshots in.

It's been too long since I even looked at radiant but go to view/filter/all..... you can do it again if all things disappear . Perhaps something is checked and you're no aware of it.

i can't remember but............ is that a "caulk" brush you are trying to texture or is it a trigger or origin brush ? from that shot it doesn't look like caulk and I can't remember if you can even texture an origin brush or trigger brush.
