how to stop the map crashing

does anybody know how to prevent the map from "crashing"? like you change somthing then you go to test it in-game and it loads then goes back to main menu. does anybody know any ways that you could prevent this without having to start all over again?

name it mymapv1.map.............. then name the change mymapv2.map. Or you can remember what you changed that made it crash and delete or fix it.

even when i do that it still wont work, i dont know if it has something to do with radiant for mbuilder, but it is really annoying

What i meant was.......... you compile your map using what ever name you call it. Then you make changes and name it something else. if the map then crashes you should be able to know where you made the mistake and fix it. if you can't fix it you still have the map from before.
I make a few small changes and compile. Sometimes just one or 2 brushes and sometimes just static stuff and compile. If something happens I know where it happened because I did so little.
