I found two or three tuts 'bout water, but that water is always too clear! Most of the other water-like textures behave strange in the map, so is there a way to "tell" the water to be less clear, like in good old worldcraft (i miss it soo much...)

mabye you could find some shader tuts and make a custom shader for your water texture of choice

canal sludge is not so clear of a water texture. And it doesnt move around very much. What I did was to make a small map which had all the water textures included in it. I ran around and viewed how each water looked and acted. Some of them were solid, some showed up as yellow, some had huge waves, some were calm, and finally some were just right.

I think, i gonna try that hall of pools. If there was a place I could send it afterwards, I would like to. Maybe others would like to download it?!
Thanks for your help

hiho! back again!
I made a map with about 30 pools, filled with lots of different water(?).
The only textures that worked are african_ocean and canal_sludge
I tried checking transparent, water and nolightmap, no effort.
Are there water-textures, that won't behave like water? What are shader and non-shader textures?
help!

I have noticed that for the clearwater textures it matters if you can see the bottom face. In other words, if you make the water brush larger than the pool, the water will come out clear because you can't see the bottom or side faces.
Does anyone know how to change the color? I want to make brown muddy water that ripples.
