hey
i was told that installing spearhead will mess up you AA maps. as the guide is not made for installing spearhead sdk i was hoping one of you would know what i must do to make it work properly, or if it just works fine and i dont have to worry...
thanks

If you're going to make maps for Spearhead and only Spearhead/Breakthrough it'll be fine. If you want your maps to work in Allied Assault use MOHAA Tools. I'm sure you could probably use the SDK for either but a few minor problems will occur that beginning mappers might find hard to figure out.

if it's the SH SDK it's in the mainta folder.

The default path is C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\SDK to stop spearhead models etc from appearing in Mohradiant rename the spearhead directory to xmainta .

found it thanks!
i used the same mbuilder and when i build map it says 'insert correct disk' when i have spearhead in the drive. so i downloaded 'nmbuilder'.
i filled it all in (game directory etc...) saved my map in SDK>MAPS
on nmbiulder i clicked build map and it loads light, vis, bsp.
but once its loaded nothing happens... surely the game was supposed load up.
thanks

May maps folder is in mainta....mainta/maps/dm
When in radiant do you go to other options and select ffa/tdm ?
And while SH is loaded you could open the console and type maplist and hit enter..... see if your map is there.

Ok I see you WANT to make spearhead maps . The SDK won't mess up AA but do as I said to make AA maps . I forgot to mention that the compiler for AA should be kept to compile maps for AA . The versions of Qmap.exe and Mohlight.exe are different for each game . AA compilers will create map that work I believe in SH but the SH compilers won't make maps for AA .

okay
i realised SH dosent work on normal mbuilder, i think it only works for AA.
i downloaded NMbuilder, there is an option on the compiler to pick which game you are using, i selected spearhead, so i know it should work, i press build map, it starts loading but then goes back to windows??
AA still works which is great but SH dosent....due to that reason.
do u use a different compiler for SH??
thanks

Use this....... MOHAA Tools......... google it.
file structure......
mohaa/main/maps/dm
use mapbuilder...........
mapbuilder setup.... copy and paste
C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA
C:\PROGRA~1\MOHAAT~1
C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\main\maps\dm
in other options select ffa/tdm
bsp..... "v"
VIS..... "fast"
LIGHT....."fast"
If you're not screwing up your map when you make it this should get you started.

okay sorry about that, i made a very stupid mistake!
on the compiler theres a check box -launch MOH after compile-.
sorry
but hooray!! theres anther error!!
opening a map i previously made on SH radiant causes it to crash! it brings up the error report window after i load the map...
i can get the techinical info about the error if u think thats nececerry.
thanks
