The Dread Overlapping Brush

Okay I know not to overlap brushes, and I do my best not to, but I have 2 overlapping brushes, that can not be undone. The brushes are part of a complex shape and overlap the width of a hair.

My question is they going to be a problem? And why is it so important not to overlap brushes?

It doesn't matter very much if detail brushes are overlapping, and as you're working on something complex, I take it the thing is detail.

Never overlap structural brushes, they're hell for the compiler

true about the detail brushes, but if two (normal/structural) brushes seem to overlap or cross a little at the edges, make sure they go all the way through each other. I mean, try making lots of rockfaces and you'll see it's practically impossible to not overlap the brushes.

I'm not saying that sticking a lot of dense cylinders into a big wall is a good idea, but when one brush overlaps the other the width of a hair, I'd say just make it go all the way through (or at least far enough) so that its cutting edge is definately inside the other brush. This way you won't get any nasty cracks or glitters.

Did you use Grid 1? Use it.
