remote crashing of server

We have had an ongoing problem with people crashing our server. Does anyone have a list of patches/fixes to prevent as many of these crashes as possible?
This was in the server log ....
clientCommand: Daisy : 17 : ~dot mo.haa
I assume 17 is the client number, but what is the last part?
