I've gotten round to cleaning up my old mod stash and found some stuff which I made in the years 2004-2007 but never finished and it doesn't look like I'm ever going to, but someone might want to polish and release them, or at least learn something from them.
You'll find it in the attachment to my TMT post on the subject, along with a short readme that explains everything:
That's it - this is all I have left, there is nothing more, so don't go asking me about missing stuff. Keep in mind I do not provide any kind of support for these mods!README.txt wrote:Here's a collection of unfinished mods I've made some time ago. I do not provide
any support for them: some things don't work as they're supposed to, some files
are missing, I don't remember how things worked, so DON'T POKE ME ABOUT THEM - I
seriously can't help you.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Some brief descriptions of the folder contents:
- Ballistics: a mod that adds physical knockback impulse to explosions.
- CovertOps: a Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory-inspired mod that allows you to
disguise as an enemy team member by putting on the skin of a dead enemy and
the avatar of the enemy team.
- DamageFetish: a mod that allows fiddling with body part damage multipliers,
allowing for game modes such as instagib and/or headshot-only.
- Firefighters: this was supposed to be a cooperative fire fighting mod, can't
remember how far I got.
- FreeBuilder: a mostly functional (some bugs remain - you can get stuck if you
try to) clone of Base Builder, written in reaction to AlienX being an asshole
(he was attempting to charge people money for his mod); he released it for
free before I finished this. One notable feature is the periscope, which is a
placeable object that allows you to look at a different part of the map; it's
buggy, though.
- Landmines: a Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory-inspired mod that gives you
anti-personnel landmines you can plant on the ground. Works very similarly to
WolfET's landmines.
- misc: a collection of miscellaneous stuff - self-contained scrips, mods with
missing files etc.
- MoHReal: I believe I've released an alpha of this mod already, but hey, it
doesn't hurt to include it. Supposed to add realism to MoHAA (iron sights,
realistic bullet spread etc.).
- MW2: a preview of a couple of features I've been working on for the sequel to
the Modern Warfare MoHAA mod. AFAICR there's sprinting and flashbangs, I also
recall coding a night vision system, but I can't tell if it's included in the
binaries (I only found comparison screenshots, which I've bundled). The
source code to the DLLs is lost (please don't ask me about it), which makes
the mod mostly usuless in terms of learning from it, but I figured you may
want to check out some cool stuff that is possible to do with this game. A
copy of the MW mod is recommended.
- Nuke: a nifty little FX of a kiloton-range nuclear explosion.
- PaintballGarand: I believe I've released this mod on .Map a few years back,
this was supposed to be a mod with paintballs with realistic ballistics.
Unfortunately, the very script that controlled the velocity of the paintballs
is missing, but maybe you'll make something out of it.
- Portal: this mod was previously released on .Map, it's an implementation of
the Portal gun from the game of the same name in MoHAA.
- Tactics: this was supposed to be a real-time squad tactics mod (you would
control a squad of AI soldiers); can't remember how far I got with it.
- TeamCommand: this mod gives every player a squad of AI soldiers that would
follow their master and follow the commands from the voice chat menu
('Squad, move in' and the like). Unfortunately, the source code and the DLLs
that covered listening to the voice chat are missing, but it's just one
element of the entire system. I believe jv_bots are required for it to work,
too.
That's it! I hope you learn something from this stuff. If you use it, please
do give proper credit, it's the least you can do to show some appreciation.
Take care!
