Hiding parts of the map

I found in Mohradiant the option to hide selected brushes and this region-tool, but it seems to me as if i just could hide ONE part of my map or not.

In good old worldcraft, we had the possibility of creating many groups, which could be made visible or not.
E.g., I had a group for all street-brushes, groups for each building, groups for entities, one for the skybox and so on...
This was really great for building and i almost can't believe that larger maps can be build without this possibility.

So: Is there a trick, old radiant-users know and me not?

there is the filter which can hide different things, have you tried that?
