Broken links/missing tuts

Post by phalanx »

The links to the 'advanced texturing tutorial' and the 'caulking tutorial' seem to be broken, they are in the 'basic texturing tutorial'.
Are these tuts still availible somewhere?

I'm also looking for a tutorial on wall decorations, like paintings and tapistries; should I be placing those on separate brushes just next to the wall, or cut up a wall section and texture a part of the wall with the texture, or something completely different? Read something about the patch inspector there, what does that do?

Regarding paintings; if I make a brush completely no draw exept for one side on which I place a painting texture will both sides of that square be textured? Or will I end up with a painting on one side and transparant on the other side?

Sorry for the tidal wave of questions, but I figuere I might as well ask all of them in one post :p and thanks in advance for future answers.

Hmm these tutorials seem to be missing  . No clue what happened :(, will try to find it out for you ;).

As to your questions, for paintings it's best to split up the wall on which you want your paintings. Create three large tall brushes, and split the midst twice horizontally. You should have one brush surrounded by other brushes. Apply the common/caulk texture to the center brush. Then create another brush just in font, which will be your painting. Apply a painting on the front face and wood or something to the sides.

Not decals as such. You should be able to use patch meshes and have them flush to the wall.

Well it seems as if the mohaa engine allows for special 'decal' brushes or models. Could be they're entities. I still forgot to try these  . I'm planning to do so though.

These 'decals' can be toggled at the advanced options, to allow more detail for high end computers.
