I also tried to skybox my level and when i goto resize my sky on the face directly above it doesn't resize to the point where it looks right either. This really starting to urk me. See Innkeeper's world spawn reference in the tutorials section. Copy the settings of e.g. m3l2.

Gen cobra try making a big Box press the hollow tool. then type in SKY into the the box on the top left. Pick a sky and apply it to all 6 sides of your map. Add some ground. player start. then make a box(as small as a crate) click on brush at the top and then sphere. The type in 25. now you have a sun. Move the sun up to the corner so you can have shadows. click on it and press "N" give it the values in the tutorial. Compile your map and play to see how it looks. That might answer part of your Question. If it works do the same to your regular map.

REMEBER always back up your map incase something happens so you wont have to restart from scratch

Thanks Yarik. I'm trying this out. The tuts said NOTHING about a sphere. It is agrivating when tuts have missing parts to them such as that. No wonder i am getting an error.

Still getting the localization error. What does this mean. I'm a good artist that is about to give up on mapping because of this complexity. I've had maps work already. I don't get it.

You don't have to create the sun in your map as a curve :? .

Mohaa can automatically create a sunflare for you (2 triangles), you just need to set a sunflarename in your worldspawn.

As for the localization error, this is nothing to worry about. For some stupid reason, mohaa is trying to translate every single word but fails and therefore complains. This error doesn't stop your map from loading.

Uhhh. The map doesn't load. this is the only error i get. I can get it to load going to the start your own server, TDM. But still no sun. Followed the tut WORD FOR WORD. Tried a dozen times. I'm getting very angry with this program. I can build a map with a bunch of light entities and get it to work. Why can't I get a damn sun to work?

Are you sure you don't get any other errors?

Check the line above cl_shutdown.

After much work I managed to get it to work. Thanks for the replies. it's amzing the complexity of setting up a map and I'm too retarded to get a sun to work.

My Map is going well. I'll post some shots of it when it's finished.
Thanks again.
