ok i want to make sort of a door that is set of by a trigger but only does it once, I know I can use the useonce trigger but what i want is for it to open when the trigger is shot not when used - can that be done?

just thought of this - can I put a script object type brush around the door that targets the useonce trigger?

Just delete the trigger after it's fired. For example, add key setthread value remove and add this to your map's script:

remove:
waitframe
$trigger remove
end

in case 'trigger' is the targetname of your trigger.

Would #cnt 1 only let the trigger fire once.

Ah yes that should be possible also.
