Ohh... to be a newbie

Post by Mirek »

Hi All - new man here - Lot's of ambition but little skill.

I've been mapping for a little while and thanks to all the great tuts and posts, espessially on this site :) I have been able to build a basic single map. I get the baddies to run around and shoot at me and hide etc etc
but a couple of question here I have:

1) My maps work great if they are named test.bsp - etc - but no go under any other name. I have adjusted the .scr accordingly but no luck. Most of the time only some sounds work and other have the ubersound error and Ai is back to stupid.
What am I doing wrong? missing something or is this the way it is?

2) How does one increase the damage caused by the enemy???
In the original game when you begin a map, a choice of skill is given.

I also hunger more knowledge especially about the basic syntax, commands and structure of the scripting language.
I eagerly look forward to the hours spent disecting original MOHAA game scripts and files but any links, info or advice would be greartly appriciated.

I dream MOHAA and my friends don't call around anymore.

Thanks in advance.

ubersound

Try this:

open ubersound.scr and search for "list of all single player maps". Add your map name to the end of the list. Then replace [train"] with [train yourmapname"]. That should fix the sound.

For the damage, I don't know. But, look at the properties (key N) of the enemy soldiers.
