Where's the .BSP gone?

Post by Vyper »

I'm new to this board and I'm new to mapping with Radient (having mapped with UnrealEd v2.0 before). I downloaded a compiling file (Mbuilder) and used that to create my .bsp .vis and the rest of the compiled files for my test map (a room, woooooohoooooooo). I ran MOHAA and typed what I was meant to in the console but every time it displays the message "can't find map maps/map1.bsp" even though I've put all the compilied files in c:/program files/ea games/mohaa/maps. Any help on why this might be happening would be greatly appreciated. :?:

You need to move your maps folder into the main folder - so it should look like:

c:/program files/ea games/mohaa/main/maps

also you need to create a dm folder and an obj folder for maps of those types

It probably went to where your ".map" file is located. Just use windows search/find to find it and move it to the "maps" folder in the "main" folder. To play it there, you have to type "maplist" in the console and choose your map.

For the future, look at "other options" in MBuilder and set your preferances for where it saves a copy. If you pick make a copy and singleplay, it will put a copy in the maps folder for you. BTW, choosing deathmath will not make your map a deathmatch map. It only puts a copy in the maps/dm folder--you have to make a script to set the game type.
