Hi,

I don't get it. People are writing about them, there are tutorials about MG42 spotters/spotlights, but I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE FOR! Can somebody explain it to me?

Well if you recall the first mission of AA, where your being lead past the search lights to avoid fire, that answers your question.

The normal behaviour of an AI operating an MG42 would be to shoot the player when they enter the gunner's field of view. The spot lights prevent this, meaning the gunner only fires when you are inside the light.
