Help with server side sound mod

Post by king_of_hi_ping »

Hi I was told this was a good place to find an answer to my quistion.

A new mod has been released witch changes the sounds of death, alot of fun and it is server sided, What I'm trying to do is change the voice commands server sided,

I have changed the uberdialog.scr so it points to single player commands that have a bit more excitment, this works client side
but when i try it on the server the old commands are called,

something over rides my mod. Since uberdialog.scr
has been changed by me, how are the old commands still working at all,

The sounds of death are still changed so I know the modified uberdialog.scr is being used by the server,

I have looked over the tut regarding sounds but this seems to be for custom maps, I'm realy hoping to make something server sided without a download

any help would be great

The 'alias' command is client-side only.

Use a tiki file instead.

looking at the tut, it seemed this tiki was ment to be added to a pk3 to be downloaded along with a custom map... if i was to add the tiki server sided only what then becomes the rule?

if some one uses the voice command " cover me" how do i point the command to the tiki that was made to over - ride the urb scr.

also what whould have to be put in the tiki to triger the new sound on the client's machine.. keep in mind these are stock sounds not custom

how whould i complet the template and have it found?

TIKI

You could try to paste the alias(cach)es at the init_server section but as said I think alias and cache are only client-side events.
