Can you make a door only open ONE WAY.
I don't mean "alwaysaway"
I mean like always open into the room, like in "real life"
All the doors in my map have to be shut, they don't close auotmaticlly.
BUt I am look for a way to make only open in one direction, I have tried ALL the direction arrow and that doesn't seem to help

Thanks

Might require some scripting. You could do it by making the door, triggerable, not_player, not_monsters.

Then add a trigger_use which calls a thread like this:

Code: Select all

doorMove:
  $doorname rotateyup $doorname.openangle
  $doorname waitmove
  $trigger_usename nottriggerable
end
You then need to figure out away to re-activate the trigger when the door is closed.

This is almost embarrasing, but I've never done a door that only opened one way... ( Well I have, byt only by mistake ) because doors opening one way are generally considered annoying by players... I would recomend using them ONLY if the door is partially blocked in one direction.

But if I'm not WAY out here, the default behaviour of a rotating_door is to open in only one direction... have you really removed the allwaysaway key/value pair? My radiant gets f****d up sometimes and refuses to remove them until restart

Oh Yeah, I forgot that rotating doors did that by default.

Yes I have never put in alwaysaway
here is what I have for my door func

angle 270 (have try ALL the combos)
classname func_rotatingdoor
wait -1

This will open the door into the room, if you are IN the Room. But if you stand to the side of the door or on the OUTside the door open outwards.

I know MOST players do not like the door to open one way. But we are making a map that is as true to life as we can make it.

If you have to shut the doors and think about which way they open it makes the game-play a little more "sporty"

I think scripting is the way to go.
