Is there anyway to stop complier from lessening the face count. In my case is taking faces out or removing faces that I do not want removed.

Does it remove faces that you don't want removed ??? Can you post us a screen?? If some faces are missing it's more likely that it because of some other error. You might need to align the brush to the grid or something like that.

Yes it is removing the side of walls, like it was left as caulk instead of textured. I will have to find a new program to convert tgas, my paintshop pro free trail has expired.

If it removes sides of a brush that is textured and should be visible then you have a bad brush!! The easiest thing is to align it to grid and check if the error remains (in most cases that will solve the problem).
If that doesn't help, redraw the brush!! Also watch carefully during compile if you can spot any error msg, if you find one that you don't know what it means the just post it here.

Removing faces simply means there are adjacent triangles on the same plane with matching properties, so it combines them into one face. It does not have any visible manifestations, nor cause any anamolies.

Ensuring lines snaped to grid points has taken care of the problem.
