I've read that to start learning how to script, you need to view the ones that came with the game. How is this done? Also, when do you need to script and when do you not need to? Last question. Do you make one script file for everything that you script in your map or do you need to use multiple script files. Oh, one more, PRECACHE? Hmmm.....no clue what it's for. Thanks!

You can find the script(scr)files in the games pk3 files, found in your main or mainta folder
First the global scripts, they are in Pak0.pk3.
You can open the pk3 file with Winzip,or Winrar,or Pakscape.Anyone of these will work.
In the pk3 file ,find the global folder. In there are all the global scripts that you can call in your map script.
Second,Are the map scripts,they are in Pak5.pk3
Each map has its own script and precache script. So you do not need multiple scripts.
Precacheing is for the preloading of model tiki's
There are other scr files in the folders but those are the main ones to look at.
You can read scr, tiki, urc, shader, mus, cfg files with notepad,or any text editor.
As for when you need to script or not,in general if its going to do something besides just being there you need to add it to your map script
Reading the scr files is very hard if your new, have a look at them. But don't get discouraged ,try to learn something bit by bit,and keep reading the forums.
