Basic Scripting

Does anyone know if a 'basic script' tutorial exists. I want to learn what all the // } : end if thread stuff means and when to use it. I have looked at some scripts but cant fathom most of it out. I have a very limited knowledge of these things and would appreciate some help.
I have d/loaded the new bots opcentre map and opened the script but to use/modify/learn it I could do with a little help on the basics.

Easy man. You haven't learned the basic scripting and tried to see jv's bot script?

MOHAA_ROX :- Well, I guessed the only way to learn was to have a fiddle. making scripts for SP and DM is pretty straightforward. But, bots...............every 1 wants bots. Im guessing you learnt pretty much the same way? Or maybe you have inside info that you could share?
Looking at all the scr/shader files that came with MOHAA explains very little (Thanks EA Games) so I s'pose Im counting on you guys to play grandma.
