MOHAA maps are different in Spearhead

Finally I gave Spearhead (+SDK) a try and I must find out: The maps I've done for MOHAA are slightly different in Spearhead: Windows I could jump through before are now too low to get through or I can't jump that high anymore! Is there anything I can do to make those maps work again?

weird

it could be that they've adjusted the player's bouding box a little in SH, so the player is now taller (might not be visible but the player is actually a walking box to the brushes and objects). But is sure is weird. I haven't noticed it myself with mohaa-maps in spearhead so far. The only thing i've noticed is that the textures look better (sharper) in mohaa than in SH when playing at 16bits color.

That's what I thought...
Is there a way to scale up the whole map when compiling or the player down per map-script?

I don't think so. But to be sure of the difference in height, you might want to test it out with a little testroom (in Mohaa) in which you put some blocks of different heights, perhaps in increments of 8 units, and see exactly which maximum blockheight you can jump onto. Then, load that testroom in SH and see if there really is a difference.

There are also rooms, where once I could jump up and down and now I can't anymore. These rooms are atleast 144 high, ought to be enough for hopping around!?

In Mohaa you had to check a special option in mohradiant to prevent player from jumping through a broken window. I think that Spearhead automatically blocks the player even if you haven't checked the box.

Nopp, there is still a checkbox to click. Unless ofcource I only think I'm using Spearhead. Hmm. :?

I didn't mean that the checkbox was gone....just that it doesn't matter if you check it or not when you play the map in spearhead, you won't be able to jump through broken windows.

another thing you need to consider is that in SH the jumping animations are different in AA you jumped in this maner |\ meaning you went verticle then angled down. In SH you jump like this /\ where it's a true arch, try timing your jumps differently.

Did some tests.
As believe, the problem is that in MOHAA you do automatically a duck-jump (remember Halflife?), in Spearhead you don't but also you even are not able to. This way, you can - as before - jump 64 units high, walk under a ceiling height of 95 units and crouch under 60 units, but you won't be able to jump up into a hole of 60 units height as you could in MOHAA.

I must have a completely different game installed than you guys.

If I don't check the BLOCK_BROKEN_WINDOW Checkbox I can jump through windows in Spearhead and I have no problem with a crouch-jump as in jumping into a 60 unit hole for instance.

There is a difference in the jump from AA to SH, mainly that in AA there was a sort of crouch before the jump, and the distance was shorter, but this could be related to the movement speed which is faster in SH.
