Post by tuffstuff7 »

hi guys its me again
well just this morning i was going over a frinds map with him when i saw a hole in his lod (wooooooooo!) btu he did not see but he fell through and it was one big brush
well i told we were both newbs and i was lost as to why that happedned and then he came into my map i was working on and in my lod terrain vreated from brush there is a high spot textured with a mountain type thing he said when he got to the midle he could go through although to me he was not moving he said he could see me through but could not shoot me mine is one brush also although i did snap to grid with another
what is this can it be overcome? the way we are testing is we are just sending the bsp's to each other that is ok isn't it?

The most common problem with LOD terrain is you don't have the scale right when you create it, so what you think you are creating isn't what you are actually creating. You must set LOD scale to 1.

Assuming you have done that already, then your problem is most likely the terrain you created is too uneven and it's culling because your graphic settings (in-game) are unable to handle the terrain you created. One final possibility is you used a bad texture.

Yup. Q3 engine is notorious for light leaks.
