In the FOG

I've tried applying the fog from the scr and I can't seem to get it to work. I'm getting kinda fed up with it. If someone could post exactly where it goes in the script and what it is it would really help me right now. THANK YOU.
I put mine after exec global/ambient.scr
but failed to get it to work.
$world farplane_color "0.752941 0.752941 0.752941"
level.fogplane = 3500
$world farplane level.fogplane

Is it neccessary to use a script, could you add it to your worldspawn instead. Or are you attempting to change it via a script ?

How do I do it via worldspawn? Haven't done this before.

Your script should work,if its after waitTill prespawn.
The only thing I noticed is you have some spaces in this line
level.fogplane = 3500
maybe try removing the spaces ,level.fogplane=3500
I don't Know if this will make a difference or not.But it is the only difference that I can see from the one I am using.

no spaces are important
try
Code: Select all
level.farplane = 2000.000000 //fog distance
$world farplane level.farplane
$world farplane_color (.333 .333 .333)
that works for me[/code]

Your just using the map script to get your fog right?Your not using brushs and the fog texture.Because that fog texture doesn't work as far as I know.

To add fog via the Worldspawn function, use these 2 sets.
Farplane :
Key : farplane
Value : #
Farplane Color :
Key : farplane_color
Value : #
Much easier than using script, but would require recompiling if you were testing several different farplane values. That would be the case where applying farplane via the .scr file would come in handy.

Yeah I got it to work. I am trying to provide the right atmosphere for the end objective in IRON TUSK single player campaign. Vassili Zaitsev joins you and follows you to help defeat the final boss. Mmm i wonder who that could be?

Yes but what is the correct values for the color.
The farplane works right but how do I do the fog part with the editor?
