Spearhead Ruined My Mapping!!!!

Post by Poo Throwing Monkey »

Ever since i installed spearhead I have hade problems compiling maps. How does the bsp file get created? almost everything from the right click menu has warning can't find whatever I have in there. I never had this problem before I got spearhead, and all custom pk3's have been moved from the files. I think the main problem is it is looking to read from the bsp file before it is created. Any help would be nice.

Dont know if I had the same problem, but when I installed the SDK I had to copy the ENTDEFS.PK3 from an older version of radiant that I have, it now works fine, at least it does so far, only a week into it.

err, the old copy of entdefs.pk3 I had I got from the zip file that I initially downloaded many months ago of MOHAA TOOLS, its in that zip ( you can prob download it from this very site we are talking on ) copy the entdefs file to your mohaa/main and I think thats about it.

Try Scorpio's new entdefs which is also used for SH.

There is a new "entdefs" that came with the "SDK" but they have not put it in a pk3 file! There is no need to put it in a pk3 because it works in the same way as everything else for the game. If you add a bsp you can put it directly in a folder called maps\dm, or shaders directly in the script\ folder. You don't need to put them in a pk3

Inside the old entdefs pk3 there is a folder called "code" and inside that folder are a file with the extension .cpp, for spearhead SDK they have choosen to put that file directly in the mainta\code folder instead of adding it to a pk3.

You can add your own .cpp files with extra func's, before Scorpio released his new entdefs I made a cpp file that had func_fulcrum and func_sinkobject. It only had those two func's and I put that file directly in the code folder. When I started mohradiant it read the entdefs and then it added those two func's.

The new entdef file for spearhead have those things in it allready. Just make sure that your basepath in morhadiant is set to your x:xxxxx\xxxxx\mohaa\ folder.

If you use the game folder as basepath then you won't need the entdefs.pk3. If you choose to run the old mohradiant you won't need it either (if you have installed the new one (SDK) and if you have spearhead installed in the default folder). The old mohradiant will then read both the main and mainta. Because of that it will read the new entdefs.

If you don't have Spearhead installed, renamed mainta to something else or don't have installed the new mohradiant then you need the entdefs.pk3 in your main folder.

Most people don't have any problems after installing Spearhead so make sure that all paths in mohradiant are correct and also make sure that all paths for the compiling process is set up correctly. (I always use Mbuilder)
