I think a huge SP AI tutorial should be compiled, including speech, pathnodes, etc. I also liked the driveable jeep idea!

Basic tuts are invaluable. This way the newer mappers will have a good reference book and the forums might get more interesting, for the basic questions are now answered.
I really think it would be nice to see some more MohRadiant-relative stuff. You know, maybe an enumeration of useful tips and tricks. Just the things the more experienced mappers don't even think about anymore but can be quite hard to discover yourself when you've just started making maps.
One little trick that comes to mind would be the "middle-mouse click on a brushface to lock its properties, before you start touching/adjusting your texture again!"
Another one would be about selecting your Func_group: once you've turned a set of brushes into a func_group, you can select the whole group by first selecting one brush of this group and then press Ctrl+E to select the complete group. Perhaps someone might even want to describe the best way to use the Subtract tool, and its disadvantages.

Little tips and tricks like these  can really save people a lot of time. As for new tuts, at the moment I can't really think of anything that hasn't been covered yet. Tank tuts and nice objective tuts are definately cool, but right now I'm more focussed on making Terrain. Now that I think of it, I am missing some good reading on using grayscale heightmap images to create lod-terrain. I really think it's one of the best and fastest ways for me to create my complex terrain. Heck, I might even write it myself if anyone's interested.

Something not that spectacular or funny as flying machineguns but an important basis for mappers would be a tut about VIS optimizing (how should I build a map, where are structural brushes neccessary, where could I save compile-time by using detail, where do I have to use hint-brushes or even manual-vis....)
I know, there is this very good Vis for dummies by TheStorm, but you could do s/th with a sample-map where you could point out critical situation in mapping.

Yeah, I agree with Wacko, tuts on using vis would be invaluable

Yay! I've got everything working from m5l2, the driving map. There're panzers to fight with, flaks to kill etc.

Also working on more stuff for the driveable jeep, e.g. dialog and the truck that follows you.

More exciting news coming your way......

Ok, as the tut writer, you can suggest any tuts, or send it any. YOU WILL GET CREDITED!!!!!!

I normally write SP tuts, like new objectives (pss...going to try an objective on cutting truck wires), new enemy resistance and new SP stuff. I'm even considering a step-by-step SP tut.

As for terrain or vis or anything else, ask InnKeeper, he's good at these.

Along with the one that was mentioned above, with general time-saving tips and tricks, I wouldn't mind seeing a very basic one with a list of terms and their definitions. Things like cull, vis group, and things like that. It would make the reading in mapping forums a bit more enlightening.

I've got to admit though, that some of the beginning tuts here are really good. The first set I tried didn't explain some very basic stuff, and I was completely lost until I tried the tuts here.

The LOD tut is a bit lacking, perhaps improving on that so that it doesn't focus on one specific task, but instead shows what can be done using those tools.

Aside from that, the tuts here are really good.

:D It has been voted the top tut site in the top 100. See the index page.

Anyway, all those stuff about mohrad ask Innkeeper to take care of that. As for SP, I'll do them.

okay no problem Rox, I was just checking 8)

I was thinking of writing an add-on tutorial on using lod, including the use of heightmaps. Some time ago I made a small example map so I might just do that some day. But it's a lot of work to make a good tut and right now my own map needs me. However if I do finish the tut I'll send it in.

(shot of heightmap lod-terrain. I didn't touch any vertex)

I know that there used to be a good tut on elevators. Haven't seen one since. May be a good addition to tuts page here.
