Stairs, the twisting kind.

Hi!
Made a small online php script that generates stairs as prefabs. check it out at
http://www.samurajdata.se/~ra/stair.php
there is no validation of input so if you don't give it correct values you'll end up with a mighty strange stair.
The file that is generated might need to be renamed into something.pfb.
If you have suggestions for improvements or have found a bug (impossible

) send amail to
ra@affv.nu.

Glad you liked it. Hope it will come in handy at some point.
I'll add texture scale tomorrow but other than that i have a hard time coming up with improvements, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
I don't have a mohaa editing homepage so if someone would add a link to the "tool" to there "links" page on there site, it might actually get used by more people than me.
And as I to some degree follow the free software philosophy the source is available should you want it. I'll add a link to it tomorrow.

thats soo cool....i'll post it on the news today.....btw can you make this a plugin for Radiant or is that too complicated

Somewhat more complicated I'm sure. Maybe not the actual construction of the stair as that would be much the same, but interacting with Radiant and making the GUI. Besides, there where a post last week about plugins and nobody seamed to know how to make one, but maybe one can get some information on that from ID Soft. Unfortunately I'm somewhat pressed for time just now and did the online tool just to get it out of my head.

Why does that bother you? I'll use something else if it's gonna cause you to go in fits of rage but can't see how that's so bad?!?! Anyway, I'll try some other lingo, Just for You ROX!

Radiant is made by Radiant, and just used by ID mappers, or am I wrong?
Anyway, on the
Radiant homepage there is some stuff about plugins, even a plugin sdk. Maybe this is useful to s/o who knows what to do with it...
And: Nice work!! 8)

I found the source for Radiant at ID, but no documentation.

I'll look at the radiant homepage. A plugin would be fun to do. Not that I really have the time, but i guess the worst that can happen is that I'll get fired.

There is a link on the page now to the source, all 292 lines of it. Not the largest script I've written but it sure was fun.
