Ok, when I try to compile my map, I am getting this error. I do type it in exactly in correctly but I get an error like I said earlier. The error read:
************ERROR*************
MAX_SURFACE_INFO
Then, it doesn't make the .bsp file like it is supposed too. Is there anybody out there that can help me with this, if so I would appreciate this very much, thanks.

Make sure you don't have custom pk3s in your main (or mainta) folder.

Ok, well I took out all of my custom .pk3 files, but it still didn't find my doors. Anything else that could be the problem? Oh and thanks by the way.

Well, now it found the doors, but, now the door won't function properly. I put the func_door on it but it won't open properly now

. All it does is that is slides outward, it doesn't swing open. Could you help me with that please? Sorry to be a hassle on you but I do appreciate your help.

Did you add the origin brush.

Your talking about putting the origin at the hinges of the door? I did that and it stills slides open. I just want it do open like a normal door

.

You need to select the origin brush AND the door and make them func_rotatingdoor. Then you must select the angle the door faces.

Ok, I got two doors to slide open and that is fine, but this other one is giving me all sorts of trouble. Now, I would prefer that it slides open now. And I did the same thing to the one that don't work as I did too the other doors that do work, and it still don't work. I didn't have to do anything with the origins or anything, well not with the sliding doors at least.

Sorry to double post here, but yes, I tried what you did and I got it to working, I appreciate it, thanks

. I still don't know how I got it too slide with no origins

. Oh well, thanks again, and maybe whenever I finish I will release it. The map is all inside, and has no outside. Has secret passages, dark hallways, and much more. If anybody wants just email me at:
roadw2000@hotmail.com
Thanks again all.

Ok, I will send it, but it may take a few days though. I do have college full time. So I work on it as much as I can.

sliding doors don't need origins, it's then angle you set it to for the direction it will open to
you can even make rotating doors without origins (if you want it to rotate from the centre for some peculiar reason?)

Yeah, like a hotel glass rotating door.

a prime example...
i was hoping if i didn't say this then people would leave me alone for a while and let me create a rotating door in a map... since joining .map i've found myself answering a lot of questions rather than actually mapping anymore
oh well... WACKO gives me the inspiration that i need
