Wrote my precache.scr - ensured name was correct. All my models dissapeared. Anyone tell me where they went?

That's not due to your precache script

ok. They were all there until i put the precache.scr in my pk3. Ill test and let everyone know what happens

I dont know what to say. I took the precache.scr out of my pk3 and now all my models are there again

I know - me too. I will play around with it and tell u if i find out what the prob was.

Can you post the the script? BTW, you can test it without making a pk3. Just put the script in the same folder as your BSP file in main/maps (maps, obj, or dm).

One posibility is that you have a lot of Spearhead models in your map and you're trying to use them in Mohaa. Spearhead uses the "mainta" folder. Try renaming the mainta folder to Xmainta and see if your models vanish from the editor.

Fixed it and tried but still not working.

I took 1 item from my map and placed it in my precache.scr. The item i used was the hedgehog. The line in my old one was:

cache models/static/hedgehog.tik

Of course when i loaded the map, the only model missing was the hedgehog. Everything else was there.

In my new precache.scr i tried this:

cache models/static/hedgehog/hedgehog.tik

I just added the extra /hedgehog/ and sure enough - it was there!!!!!!!!!

I have never heard of symptom like this. Very odd indeed. But I can say why #2 is working for you. Its as if you have no precache file at all. Since the paths are not valid, Im sure the console is saying for each one, "Could not load blah blah blah, model blah blah not found". So in essence by putting in bogus names in the precache script you are back to seeing all models as if you had no precache file. But something else is at work here, is this for spearhead or mohaa ???

It is for AA. You are correct. The errors are something like that.
