scripting question

Can someone please suggest a comprehensive guide to scripting for mohaa. i have been running around in circles on the net. one person would write a horrible tutorial with some relavent script but they fail to clarify the syntax. in other cases, i come across a well writen tutorial but they implement irrelavent or poorly written, incorrect scripts.
i am beginning to get fed up. I mean how hard could it be. we are talking about a scripting language that shares the common programming structure such as objects, variables, identifiers, logical operaters, arithmetic operaters, conditional loops and operaters, arrays and classes and so forth. the only difference here is the syntax and how, when and where the syntax is used. why cant people adopt a standardized method of teaching via tutorials by explaining their scripts intelligablely. Please all you tutorial enthusiasts and "professionals" allike, be more explicit, and UNDERSTANDABLE when it comes to explaining your script. dont just throw around terms. In other words, explain the concept first before jumping into the "rocket science script". always always assume that your audience is a beginner. so what if a bigshot reads your tutorial, let him skip the matieral that is familiar to him or better yet organize your tutorials so that you have a section for newbies, one for novice, and finally one for big shots. Also, please suggest alternative methods of writing the script to accomplish a goal. lastly, please make sure it REALLY does work before posting tutorials! I TRIED TO IMPLEMENT THE MG42 MACHINEGUNNER IN MY MAP FOLLOWING SURGEON'S TUTORIAL BUT I CANNOT GET IT TO WORK...no matter how i change the script or the ai parameters in my map. anyway, if some can point me in the direction of a well written guide to scripting for mohaa please let me know.

thanks in advance.

PS. happy mapping

Mohaa, FAKK2, and Return to Castle Wolfinstine use modified versions of the Quake3 game engine. There is a lot of stuff on the internet about scripting for Quake3, but not all of it applies to Mohaa. Also, there are a few documents in the docs folder of MOHTools.

I have picked up quit a bit form the internet and asking questions on the forums--I've never taken a programing course in college. I like to study the scripts that came with the game too.

Hope that helps.

well we could sit here for ages and still get nowhere...

tell us what action you want the script to perform and we'll tell you what script to use and why to use that script and what each line does...

just imagine how many possibilites of script there are to solve one dilemma... you'll see until then why you have had little response :D

this sounds really sharp but it really is meant in the nicest possible way
