single player

i need to learn to make a basic script to activiate ai in sp... help would be nice

Just place ai in a map, and name is test_xxx for simple reasons.

SP has objectives that are added, and you need to complete the objectives (that's pretty obvious lol :lol:).

i dont think you understand.. i know to make it test_blank and place AI in it...


what i am asking is i need the full script (with no objectives added yet plz) that makes the map load ect and have working AI that actualy use player path nodes... and stuff... just the basic beginner sp mapper that wants the germans to actualy shoot back at you when you and have weapons and so on...

easiest way... is not in scripting

with a german selected press "i"
give it a target: "player"
give it a targetname: "german"
then select APPLY

with the player_start selected press "i"
give it targetname: "player"
then select APPLY

do this for all ur Germans :D

This is really not necessary! The player will have targetname 'player' by default, it's a very bad idea to targetname your start postion player also. If you do this, you've just turned $player into an array.

Germans don't need a target to attack someone. Actually it doesn't have any use.

To force Germans to attack the player, type key 'attackplayer' without a value. Otherwise they should still attack you if they see or hear you.

ok one last time...

there is something that you enter into the script for your single player map.. and makes it so you dont have to type no friggin keys or values or any shiz like that... its just a simple line that you enter into your script and walla you have AI that actualy attack you rather than stand there and make wierd faces at you.

They don't stand there making faces. They rather attack you from afar. If you have set up pathnodes, they will come running and charging at you.

i sat there and watched them... how would you know if they didnt make faces??? well anyways i figured out the scripting sheesh... the line of script that i was looking for was

exec global/ai.scr does NOT 'activate' AI.

I've seen this so often and always I just have to deny it ;). Even the original developers used in wrongly :?.

This script is used (can be used) for enemy respawning with $enemyspawner entities.

:evil: damn i just tried the ai without a map script and i used the thingy where you hit I but i didnt follow his way... i just gave em a weapon and that was about it... it worked fine... oh well

well if you'd of tried HIS way earlier then you'd of solved your problem, serves urself right!!! :P
