hi well its me again ....have learned alot in the last 2 weeks and alot from here and an online friend. my map i am working on ,well i can't help but add the sky box and go in and look to judge things...........i am about 60% through and no compile errors lol but......... i do see this and have seen it in others maps like where the window trim meets the wall, i see what i am describing as burnt place like it is darker....could this be the lighting settings i have chose? i like the way it looks else where, i have even seen this the stock maps like algiers where in the square one wall seems darker although it is the same texture....is this something you live with or will the final compile help this
and once again thanks

Three options:
  1. Live with it.
  2. Compile with -bounce 0, decreases 'vividness' of map.
  3. Ask ydnar to create a light compiler that rocks (<-- that would rock 8))

As this happens sometimes but not always and a -bounce 0 is not what I want, has anyone made experiences about when or why this appears? Does it depend on light and brushface direction? On the adjacent brushfaces? Any ideas? Maybe one could atleast find a work around in very extreme cases where it spoils the whole map?!

Might have to do with your sundirection. If it is at the perfect angle, it can cause some funky shadows or lighting glitches.
