I was just wondering, and I won't be able to get anywhere more if this isn't answered, but when you make LOD terrain, what is too steep to climb? Thanks

don't know. but it probably is the same as with ramps made of brushes and you could easily build a test map with different ramps and see which one you can climb.
and tell us plz what you found out

With steps, anything that is steeper than 4 X 1 (16 X 4 units) is too steep to climb without jumping. It is probably the same for terrain. The slope below is to steep to climb without the steps and you fall if you go down them to fast.
You should test it with ramps at different angles, as wacko said.

Remember you can always make a stairway out of clip brushes to make a cliff like tltrude's climable.
Apart from that it's always a good idea to build a clip layer underneath your terrain, because terrain collision detection code is so crap you can even fall through
