Firing 88s -- SH model -- IS it dropping shells at range?

Ok, using the older AA model and the whole trigger thingy I used to be able to get the AA 88 to fire 'heavy' ammo --without having to actually have a heavy round-- and the shots would impact across the map and cause damage. Cool.

BUT, now with the SH model it is using the 'King Tiger Gun' and you never see the round when it's fired. The .tik file has a range where I can adjust the distance, but my question is:

Can the SH model 'p_flak88' be used as long range artillery???

IF not, how can I get my old 88base/turret setup firing the bazooka/heavy rounds again???? I've imported prefabs but it seems that SH ignores the .tik files....the 88 shoots, but not round comes out in any form.

look at this thread viewtopic.php?t=2531&highlight= but remember that if you do this that after you can't use the flak88 or nebelwerfer as a player weapon because it crashes the game

Thanks bd, but I'm not interested in an auto-fire 88. I want it to be manned and know that if it's being fired that the shells are landing 6-8,000 units away and capable of doing damage. I'd prefer to still see that little bazooka rocket racing through the air.......

it is only auto fire if you use the vehicle_thinkers.scr you can script it to fire at script origins you place in the map . you setaimtarget and use anim fire when you want it to fire . I have done a map with the older mohaa too so you can use that . I don't know if it has a projectile you can see though maybe look for a tut by mohaarox on how to do that I think it is in the tutorials section .

I took the fog out of my level and can see the p_flak88 shell explode at about 5000 units from the gun....absolute flat tragectory though, need to edit the projectile .tik and try to get the 'gravity' setting to big the shell down now to make it effective...kind of an 'in-direct' fire method that I'm going for but only when the gun is used by a player.
