Shape of a door

Does the shape of a door matter? I made a door that I clipped to be a weird shape and when I tried to make it a rotating door, I got a weird error (can't remember what it was off the top of my head). However, as a normal sliding door it worked fine. So, does the shape matter (do they need to be rectangles)? It's possible it may have been a different problem.

it should work ok, but the origin will still need 2 b rectangular

or use mulitple brushes but just keep 1 origin

Heh, I'd love to see that weird door if it works. G'luck!

(good idea for futuristic maps)

You can even make a door with more than one brush, e.g. to get a hole in the middle or to add handles and so on. You'll just have to select all brushes that will make the complete door PLUS the origin brush and then turn it into a door.

Any shape

Yes it can be any shape you wish. I have made an entire sub roll over. Just remember the center of the origin brush is the point of rotation and it must be part of the func_rotatingdoor. If you have a loose origin brush, that is not part of something, you will get very bad errors.
