Custom Load Screen

Post by Sideways »

I followed Nemesis' tutorial on this, and it still won't work. The best I was able to get was my map in .pk3 format, with everything working properly, and a blank custom load screen. It had my map name on the bottom, and the box for the pic itself, but nothing in the box, even though the .tga file was bundled with the rest of the files in the .pk3.

Does anyone know of a tutorial for custom load screens, other than Nemesis' ? Following his instructions on this doesn't seem to be helping me at all.

THanks in advance.

Yes. Use a .jpg. Using a .tga or targa image is only for a picture with an alpha channel.
The real question is, by BLANK do you mean nothing or did you have the frame up but no picture in the middle? Is this a Multiplayer map or a single player map?

yeah use a jpg, i followed his tut too and ended up with the frame but a yellow ... hmm or was it black ... color in the middle ...

anyway i finished using a tga by creating an extra channel in photoshop which i named alpha 1 i think .. i read it in some post here if i'm not mistaken and as i saved that image with that extra channel, which i created by duplicating any of the existing channels (rgb/red/blue/blabla) i got it to work ... but jpg might be faster for you
